He used the finest detail and the highest quality 5/8" oak wood.The 14" hooking square has 4 - 10" gripper strips stapled purposely on the top and side to keep the cloth extremely taut while hooking. The exposed pivot ball and swivel design allows your work to rotate 360 degrees while the base remains steady in your lap.
The 2" x 14" cross bar and 2.5" x 2" support brackets adds extra frame strength. An extra feature added is more room for your wool holding hand underneath your cloth; he added l-l/2" from base to hooking square.
The frame has a beautiful natural oak finish.
